Abbas Qoli Khan Shamlu’s Seminary of Religious Sciences in Mashhad
Seminaries of religious and traditional sciences are key scientific centers in Islamic world and they have played a major role in the history of Islamic countries including Iran.

Abbas Qoli Khan Shamlu’s Seminary of Religious Sciences was constructed upon the order of Safavid Shah Suleiman in 1666 AD by Abbas Qoli Khan Bigler Beigi. This school is registered is listed as among the national monuments of Iran and is located at the beginning of Safavid Street. Now this school is used as a seminary. The school is built in two storeys and it has four porches on four sides in Safavid architectural style that host more than 100 lounges.

This school is made of brick and has ornaments like tiling and Muqarnas on the opening gate of the porches, chambers and cloisters. This school is one of the architectural works in Mashhad that is under the supervision of Khurasan Organization of Cultural Heritage.
