IRGC Chief: Iran Successfully Fires Long-Range Ballistic Missile from Warship
SAEDNEWS: Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Hossein Salami said that his country has successfully launched a long-range ballistic missile from one of its warships as part of the joint cooperation between the IRGC's Aerospace Division and Navy.

SAEDNEWS: “One long-range ballistic missile was successfully fired from a military vessel of the IRGC Navy in joint collaboration between the IRGC Aerospace Force and the IRGC Navy,” Maj. Gen. Salami stated in a televised interview on Monday.

He added the achievement means that the IRGC will have the capacity and capability to hit any target because its ocean-cruising warships can sail to any location around the world, stressing, “Our ocean cruisers can be present in any part of the oceans and naturally, when we can fire missiles from them, there remains no safe spot for any power that would seek to cause us insecurity and instability.”

Iran’s Navy has in recent years achieved self-sufficiency in manufacturing surface and sub-surface vessels. It has also increased its presence in international waters to protect naval routes and provide security for merchant vessels and tankers.

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has recently praised achievements made by Iran’s Navy after the 1979 Islamic Revolution as “remarkable and unbelievable”.

Iranian military experts and technicians have in recent years made substantial headway in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment, making the armed forces self-sufficient in the weaponry sphere. Iranian officials have repeatedly stressed that the country will not hesitate to boost its military capabilities, including its missile and drone power, which are entirely meant for defense, and that Iran’s defense capabilities will never be subject to negotiation.

During the interview, the top general said with the arrival of a large number of drones, cruise missiles and even ballistic missiles with pinpoint accuracy and capable of targeting warships at sea, the IRGC's naval defense and offensive power featured a "very complex and interconnected combination of up-to-date, advanced and modern capabilities”.

"It has also increased the range of our naval influence and power to any given desired point," he added (SOURCE: FARSNEWS).
