Abu-Mahdi warship can cruise 2,000 nautical miles
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Naval Force Commander Commodore Alireza Tangsiri has said that Abu-Mahdi al-Muhandis warship can cruise for 2,000 nautical miles by evading the enemy’s radar detection.

Rear Admiral Tangsiri said on Saturday in the ceremony of joining the new advanced warship and speedboats to the IRGC Navy that the Abu-Mahdi warship has a naval endurance of 14 days. He added that the Abu Mahdi warship is powered by four propulsive engines and can stay afloat in Force Six conditions and carry out naval missions under Force Five conditions.

This IRGC Naval Force Commander in his remarks added that it took 19 months for the domestic knowledge-based company to manufacture these vessels for the IRGC Navy, saying that the manufacturer of this warship can build three more warships in less than one year.

Kowsar missiles – medium-range, land-based anti-ship missiles – are installed on the Ashura and Tariq class vessels to convert them from rocket launchers to missile launchers, the commander added.

The IRGC Naval Force received the new equipment in a ceremony held in Bandar Abbas, the capital city of the southern province of Hormuzgan.
