Ayatollah Yazdi the Former Head of Iranian Judiciary Dies at 89
Ayatollah Mohammad Yazdi the former head of Iranian Judiciary and one of the significant political figures in Islamic Republic of Iran dies at 89.

Tehran, SAEDNEWS, Dec. 9: Ayatollah Yazdi was a member of the Guardian Council, the body tasked with vetting legislative and presidential candidates, supervising elections, and overseeing the bills passed in the Iranian parliament for conformity with Islamic principles.

An influential member of the Assembly of Experts, Ayatollah Yazdi was appointed as the body's head in 2015.

The cleric had also served as Iran’s Judiciary chief between 1989 and 1999.
