Bibi Doost Mausoleum at Zabol is located on a hill and it is different from other shrines and is only for the ladies. Sistan is the land of ancient myths. It is an extensive fruitful land and is located on the southeast of Iran. Since the time when Iranian people accepted Islam and in those places where people converted to Shia Islam, in those places, this land became the home for different mausoleums. History of Sistan was witness to bitter events like diseases, deluge and drought and this caused a major fall in number of the population of this region. In those times, people would resort to the saints and prophet’s household. They would use these saints and Imams in order to get their wishes fulfilled. Thus, shrines and sacred mausoleums became important in the culture and beliefs of this region. These beliefs caused many shrines to be constructed for these saints even based on one’s dream. In these mausoleums, tamarisks would be planted that according to the ancient Persian beliefs, can be sanctified. Some people in Zabol would use the stones on Khajeh Mountain for construction of their intended mausoleum. In these places, cow and sheep would also be offered. One these holy shrines are Bibi hill that is different from other shrines.
