Tehran, SAEDNEWS: During to a visit to a vaccination center in Iran’s northeastern city of Mashhad on Wednesday, Saeed Namaki said around 600,000 Iranian people are getting COVID jabs on a daily basis at present.
He said arrangements have been made to increase the public vaccination capacity to one million doses per day in the near future.
He also hailed the appropriate process of distribution of medication for the coronavirus patients across Iran, noting, however, that the growing demand has caused some problems.
Asked about a shortage of serums in the country, Namaki said the production in one of the serum-making factories had come to a halt, but the necessary supplies have been purchased from abroad and will be distributed among hospitals and pharmacies within the next few days.
According to the Health Ministry’s figures, more than 13.52 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, while over 3.27 million have received the second dosage.
The death toll from the pandemic in Iran has exceeded 95,000 as the country has experienced the highest daily death rates in recent days (Source: TASNIM).
