We can still walk across the narrow and intertwined allies of Bushehr which are as such concatenated chains for sea breezes to reach the heart and four corners of the city and feel the city with all its features. But this event only takes place within the traditional texture of the city! If you ever visited this part of the city, you’ll see that walls, chambers, windows and niches of all houses are all designed in a form that allows one to make the best use of the wind stream in cooling the city. Most houses have five to seven windows to which the natives refer as “Nim Dar” and these figures play the role of the apertures.
In your tour to the narrow allies of the city, keep checking the wooden doors. The wooden doors of the city are made in such form that for their construction, no single nail or iron is used and you can take good photos beside them. The doors had two different door knockers for men and women which are still used in many cities. Most buildings of this city have “Shinashir –traditional balcony”. Shinashir is a wooden louvered balcony with latticework that is placed before the windows of the upper floors of the houses. This balcony allows one to have a perspective of the main courtyard decorated by numerous vases!
