The mausoleum of Hakim Abulqasem Ferdowsi Tusi is located in the middle of a wonderful garden in 20 kilometers north of Mashhad city. The current building of Ferdowsi’s mausoleum and Tus museum that is inspired by Achaemenian Architectural style especially the architecture used in the tomb of Cyrus the Great. This mausoleum was designed upon the order of National Society of Cultural Heritage in 1964 and its construction was finished under the supervision of Engineer Hushang Seyhun in 1968.

The façade of the structure includes Achaemenian ornaments including the columns and capitals. The poems that have been written on four sides of the monument from Hakim Ferdowsi introduce his thought and character. The upper part of the building is made in cavity form and the internal space of it is composed of 20 marble columns at the lower part and 8 columns in upper area.
