First Quota of COVAX Vaccines Shipped to Iran
The first consignment of coronavirus vaccine allocated to Iran under the World Health Organization's COVAX program has arrived in Tehran, the spokesperson for the Food and Drug Administration of Iran said.

Tehran, SAEDNEWS: In a post on his Twitter account, Kianoosh Jahanpoor said the shipment, including over 700,000 doses of the Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine, was shipped to Iran on Sunday night.

The spokesman said the consignment of vaccines, produced by South Korean firm SK Bioscience Co Ltd, has been transported to Tehran from Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

He also noted that the total amount of vaccines that Iran is going to receive under the COVAX (COVID-19 Vaccines Global Access) program amount to 16.8 million doses.

Iranian officials have devised plans to receive over 16 million doses of vaccines through the COVAX, import more than 25 million doses from abroad, and produce 25 million other doses inside the country (Source: Tasnim).
