FM Deputy: Iran follows de-dollarization policy through BRICS
SAEDNEWS: Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister said that Tehran seeks cooperation within the framework of BRICS with the state members, one of which omits the dollar from business trades and financial transactions.

SAEDNEWS: Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Ali Bagheri Kani, in an interview with Sputnik on Sunday, said that Iran, like other members of the BRICS group, follows the de-dollarization of commercial, economic, and financial exchanges among the large emerging economies.

Bagher Kani said: "We have planned many missions and joint work with other BRICS members within the framework of this organization. One of the most important tasks is the de-dollarization of trade and economic transactions and financial cooperation."

He expressed hope that these activities would be strengthened and expanded to achieve the goal as soon as possible.

Established in 2009, BRICS was formed out of the world's biggest economic powers (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa).

In August, the 15th top-level BRICS summit in Johannesburg extended invitations to Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia to join the bloc.

Their full membership, except for Argentina, is scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2024 (SOURCE: IRANPRESS).
