Ryadh, SAEDNEWS, Nov. 23: The leaders of the Group of 20 countries have stated in a Leaders' Declaration that they are committed to helping developing countries, as the world economy faces the impact of the coronavirus pandemic's resurgence.
The two-day online G20 summit ended on Sunday. It was chaired by Saudi Arabia. The declaration says global economic activity has partially picked up, but that the recovery is uneven, highly uncertain and subject to elevated downside risks. It says that the leaders are determined to continue using all available policy tools to support the global economic recovery.
The leaders agreed to extend the suspension of low-income countries' debt payments for six months. The suspension will be extended from the end of this year to June 2021.The leaders also approved a framework for further debt relief. That relief can be provided on a case-by-case basis (Source: NHK World News).
