Beyond that, it sees no need for such interference. Kadkhodaei added that the US election is also an internal issue, in which the Islamic Republic of Iran does not see any interest or need to interfere. Three days ago, in a baseless accusation, the US Department of the Treasury had sanctioned five Iranian groups that it says attempted to interfere in the upcoming presidential election between Donald Trump and Democratic candidate Joe Biden. Iran summoned the Swiss envoy earlier on Thursday to protest against baseless US claims. “Iran’s strong rejection of American officials’ repetitive, baseless and false claims was conveyed to the Swiss ambassador,” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said in his weekly press briefing. “As we have said before, it makes no difference for Iran, who wins the US election.” (Source: IranPress).
