Iran Favors Lasting Peace in South Caucasus without Foreign Interference
SAEDNEWS: Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian highlighted the significance of the South Caucasus region in Iran’s foreign policy, saying Tehran backs efforts to ensure lasting peace and stability in that region without the presence of outsiders.

SAEDNEWS: In a post on his X account on Sunday, Amirabdollahian said he has held a meeting with the ambassadors of Iran to the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia.

The top diplomat said he has made it clear in the meeting that the South Caucasus region has a serious place in Iran’s foreign policy.

Amirabdollahian noted that he has also highlighted the Foreign Ministry’s focus on the efforts to ensure lasting peace and stability in the South Caucasus without foreign interference and broaden relations with Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan in accordance with the policy of neighborliness.

On October 23, Tehran played host to the 2nd meeting of the “3+3” Regional Platform, titled ‘time for peace, cooperation and progress in South Caucasus’.

In a joint communiqué at the conclusion of the meeting, the foreign ministers of Iran, Russia, Turkey, Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan stressed the need for the peaceful settlement of disputes in South Caucasus, as well as respect for the sovereignty, political independence and territorial integrity of all states (Source: TASNIM).
