Iran: ICJ’s Verdict A Testimony to Israeli Genocide in Gaza
SAEDNEWS: Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kana’ani welcomed the International Court of Justice’s first ruling on South Africa’s case against Israel, and said that the UN court’s decision demonstrates the Zionist regime’s acts of genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

SAEDNEWS: "The ICJ ruling serves as a testimony to the bitter reality that what is going on in Gaza is an instance of international crimes, including genocide, which is and continues to be committed with the US administration's unlimited support for the Zionist regime," Kana’ani wrote on X on Saturday.

Commenting on a response issued to the ruling by Washington which has announced it believed the genocide allegations were "baseless", the Iranian diplomat stressed that the type of attitude adopted by the US towards the ruling, indicates the White House's “instrumentalization of international judicial mechanisms”.

In its interim ruling, issued earlier on Friday, a panel of 17 judges passed seven “emergency measures” requested by South Africa. In addition to demanding that Israel refrain from committing genocide in the besieged Gaza Strip, the judges ordered the regime to punish members of its military who commit “genocidal acts”, as well as officials who publicly call for the genocide of the Palestinians. Israel must also preserve evidence of any such acts already committed, the ruling stated.

Notably, the court did not order Israel to halt its military action in the blockaded territory. According to Gaza health officials, the Israeli onslaught has killed more than 26,000 Palestinians, roughly two-thirds of them women and children, and laid waste too much of the enclave.

Israeli officials have reacted by accusing the ICJ of "antisemitic" bias.

Kana’ani said that Tel Aviv's hostile reaction to the ruling showed that the Zionist regime's foundation is based upon “aggression and discrimination”, and it lends “no credence to the international legal norms and regulations”.

"The people of the world are now faced with the question that what additional permission do the international organizations and institutions [tasked with] preserving the international peace and security need to force the Zionist regime into stopping the genocide?" he added (SOURCE: FARSNEWS).
