Iran, already an observer at the SCO, became its permanent member on Friday.
Iran’s membership in the Organization creates new opportunities for the country to face unilateral, illegitimate, and unfair sanctions, Sidorov said.
Iran has considerable experiences in dealing with the sanctions, so it can use them in its cooperation with SCO member countries, he added.
On September 17, Iran joined the SCO which had eight members, including China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Pakistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan before the date.
As the Russian academic staff said, the SCO by its successes can prevent the dominating system, the US in particular.
In the future, the SCO will play a leading role in establishment of multi-polar system, he underlined (Source: IRNA).
