Iran Parliament Speaker Visits Moscow to Deliver Supreme Leader's Historic Letter to Putin
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said on Sunday that during his visit to Moscow, he will convey an important message from Tehran to the high-ranking Russian officials.

Moscow, SAEDNEWS, Feb. 7: "My visit to Moscow today is taking place at the official invitation of the Speaker of the Russian Duma,” Qalibaf told reporters before leaving Tehran for Moscow.

"The Supreme Leader (Ayatollah Khamenei) has always emphasized strategic relations with Russia. One of the highlights of this trip is that I carry an important message in this framework in line with strategic issues," he added.

“I am pleased to say that relations between Tehran and Moscow in the economic, political, defense, security, industrial, technological, scientific and academic fields are very appropriate and good,” Qalibaf said.

He further underlined Iran and Russia's commonalities on regional and global issues, noting that these commonalities can lead to further expansion of ties and cooperation as well as coordination between the two countries.

Qalibaf expressed the hope that his trip would be effective in deepening strategic relations between Iran and Russia in bilateral, regional and global arenas.

Qalibaf left Tehran for Moscow on Sunday at the invitation of Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.

During the three-day trip, Qalibaf is to hand the message of Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei to the Russian government, and meet his Russian counterparts in Duma and Federation Council as well as other economic, commercial, political, and security officials of Russia.

He is also slated to address foreign policy and international think tanks of Russia.

The chairman and the rapporteur of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, as well as heads of energy and agriculture commissions of the parliament are accompanying Qalibaf during his trip to Moscow (Source: Fars News).
