Iran to Become a Permanent Member of Eurasian Economic Union
Iran's Parliament Speaker said that negotiations for Iran's permanent membership in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) are underway and the process will be started in two weeks.

Moscow, SAEDNEWS, Feb. 11: "Iran is a member of the Eurasian Economic Union, which connects the countries of the region and has set up a free-trade zone," Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf told reporters on Wednesday morning as he arrived in Tehran to talk about the achievements of the trip to Russia.

Stating that the visit to Russia was made at the official invitation of the Speaker of Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin, Ghalibaf said: "This visit was an opportunity to discuss regional, economic issues, and parliamentary cooperation."

Noting that the most important feature of this trip was to convey the message of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei to the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, he added: "The Leader's emphasis is on long-term strategic coordination and agreements with Russia."

Ghalibaf said: "Despite the coronavirus, Iran's exports to Russia have increased by 40%, and a financial-commercial center and a logistics center are to be established." (Source: IranPress).
