Iran trying to finalize JCPOA talks along with maintaining nat'l interests: FM
SAEDNEWS: Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has said that the Islamic Republic is steadfastly pursuing diplomacy and negotiations, as it tries to finalize the 2015 nuclear deal while protecting its national interests.

Tehran, SAEDNEWS: FM Amirabdollahian made the remarks in a seminar on resistance diplomacy in the capital Tehran on Tuesday, noting that reaching an agreement in line with the national interests of the country is one of the inherent duties of the diplomatic apparatus of the Islamic Republic system.

Iran will keep making efforts to conclude the negotiations to revive the nuclear deal – officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)– while trying to preserve its national interests, he said, adding that Tehran will not leave the negotiating table.

Of course, Tehran has explicitly told the US and other Western sides that it seriously pursues the observation of redlines, protection of the national interests as well as achieving an agreement, which is complied with by all parties, the top diplomat noted.

Tehran will never leave the negotiating table and has already shown that in the worst situation when foreign parties attempted to fuel unrest in Iran, Tehran has not retreated from its redlines, he said, adding that diplomacy via negotiation is available today.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he pointed to the issue of refugees from Ukraine, Afghanistan, Yemen, and Palestine as a common source of concern, saying that the Islamic Republic is against war and does not help any warring side.

Iran hopes that all regional challenges will be resolved through negotiations and agreements not via conflict, which is an incorrect and incompetent way, he said, noting that the root cause of the war in Ukraine should not be forgotten; however, Iran is hopeful to witness the region and the world full of peace, security, and progress (Source: IRNA).
