Iran Urges IAEA to Avoid Politicization
SAEDNEWS: The UN nuclear agency is strongly advised to perform its professional function and stay away from political issues when it comes to cooperation with Iran, the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson said.

SAEDNEWS: Speaking to reporters at a weekly press conference on Monday, Nasser Kanaani said reports that raise concerns over Iran’s uranium enrichment activities are not constructive and run counter to the reality of Iran’s peaceful nuclear program.

“Iran’s nuclear activities are peaceful and monitored by the IAEA,” he said.

The spokesman noted that the International Atomic Energy Agency and its director general are expected to proceed with their professional job, avoid politicized behavior, and allow the course of cooperation with Iran to continue professionally and within the framework of the Safeguards Agreement, the NPT and the statement signed by Tehran and the UN nuclear agency.

Reaffirming Iran’s commitment to the NPT and the Safeguards Agreement, Kanaani said since the conclusion of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Iran has been at the top of the list of countries where the IAEA has carried out the highest number of inspections (SOURCE: TASNIM).
