Tehran, SAEDNEWS: “The glorious, meaningful and honorable presence of the courageous nation of Islamic Iran at the ballot box on June 18, despite psychological operations and poisonous propaganda of the enemies of the revolution and the Islamic Republic, and the difficult situation caused by spread of coronavirus in the country, once again showed the intelligence, vigilance and timely action of the Iranians to the world and added a new golden and proud chapter to the history of this land,” General Baqeri said in a message on Tuesday to congratulate President Rayeesi’s endorsement by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.
He stressed the Iranian Armed Forces’ preparedness to cooperate with the new government in different areas, wishing success for him in the new post.
Ayatollah Khamenei officially endorsed Rayeesi as Iran’s 8th president in a ceremony in Tehran on Tuesday.
Iranian state and military officials attended the ceremony held weeks after the ex-Judiciary chief won the country’s 13th presidential election.
Rayeesi, the eighth president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, won almost 62 percent of the votes in the June 18 presidential election and succeeded President Hassan Rouhani, who served two four-year terms in office (Source: FARS NEWS).
