Tehran, SAEDNEWS: United “Verification means selling oil in an official manner, with ease and under normal conditions, and its money be received by Iran,” the Supreme Leader wrote in a post on his Instagram page.
The Instagram account also released a video in which Ayatollah Khamenei stressed that Tehran is in no hurry for Washington to come back to the nuclear deal.
The Supreme Leader’s remarks came as an Iranian team is in the Austrian capital city of Vienna to negotiate on the revival of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) with other signatories to the deal (4+1).
The first round of JCPOA talks ended on Tuesday after an hour of five-sided negotiations and the participants were all agreed on the need for pursuing the technical talks till their second session of Friday.
Iran announced on Wednesday that it will not reverse its retaliatory measures adopted in response to the West’s defiance of the nuclear deal unless all US sanctions are lifted in practice and effectively.
“Media spinning can't change the fact that unlike the US, Iran remains a Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) participant,” Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh wrote on his twitter page.
He added that the only US "path back" to the nuclear deal is “full compliance and effective removal of all imposed, re-imposed and re-labeled sanctions”.
“Only after that, we'll stop our remedial measures,” Khatibzadeh said.
In relevant remarks in March, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said Iran stands united vis-a-vis the US over the nuclear deal, and further called on the nation's present and future administration officials to focus efforts on plans to defuse the sanctions, rather than attempting to remove the boycotts through deals with the West.
"US’s Maximum Pressure policy has failed. The Former Fool was kicked out in such a way that it was a disgrace for both him and the US. All praise is due to God and by His Glory, the Islamic Republic stands strong and powerful," Ayatollah Khamenei said in his annual speech on the first day of the Persian New Year on Sunday March 21.
"After this too, if the new US government seeks to deal with Iran using a maximum pressure policy, it will fail too. The current US administration will also be kicked out and gone, while the Islamic Iran will stand strong with increasing power and dignity," he added.
"Iran's policy regarding the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) has been clearly stated. This policy will never be violated at all. The US must lift all sanctions. After verifying that sanctions have truly been lifted, we will return to the JCPOA commitments. We don't trust the US’s mere promises; actions are needed."
"I've heard some Americans say today's situation is different from when JCPOA was signed in 2015-2016 and some JCPOA Articles must be changed. That's true. During this time, a government took office in the US that disgraced and humiliated the US. But Iran has earned more power and reinvigorated. So, if a change is to be made, it should be to the benefit of Iran," the Iranian leader reiterated.
"Regarding the JCPOA, Iran is in no rush. We are very patient. We are moving forward. If they implement the policy Iran has announced, we will return to our commitments. If they don't, things will continue the way they are going today," he stressed.
Elsewhere in his speech he touched on the issue of sanctions, and said the country's economy should be waiting for the removal of sanctions through deals with the West and the US, and Iranian officials should concentrated their efforts on plans to defuse sanctions and render this instrument of the enemy useless (Source: Fars News).
