Tehran, SAEDNEWS: The considerable parts of the texts of the JCPOA revival agreement have been prepared, Khatibzadeh said, adding that the parts that have not been completed have a specified status that shows the differences.
We are approaching the end of the Vienna talks, he said, noting that some unresolved issues still remain, but the significant point is that the resolved issues are much more than unresolved.
He added that we have gone a long way so far, but it is not going to be an easy path.
He expressed hope that the other parties can make their own decisions, in which case “we can also reach an agreement that will be desirable for all.”
In Vienna, all delegations acknowledge that relatively good progress has been made and are all determined to reach a deal to revive the JCPOA, the official said.
They also accept that some key issues should be investigated by decision-making authorities in countries, he further noted.
It has been repeatedly stated that once the nuclear deal is fully implemented and verified, Iran will resume full implementation of its commitments, he underlined.
As a violation of the JCPOA, the US must give the necessary guarantees. During the Vienna negotiations, in the framework of national interests, Iran is merely pursuing the objectives outlined by the supreme authorities of the system, he underscored.
Over the past four decades, varied US administrations have imposed a wide range of sanctions against Iran, he stated, adding that even US officials admit that the country has failed to reach its sanctions goals and has failed to do so.
The release of Iranian prisoners in the US and some other Western states who have been held hostage under baseless reasons has always been on the agenda as a top priority, he noted.
Iranian Foreign Minister has long proposed exchanging all Iranian and American prisoners, he said, adding that the Biden administration also addressed this issue since taking office.
Negotiations are underway and will be subsequently notified if they are concluded, he pointed out.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he said that Iran does not meddle in the domestic issues of countries, including Lebanon.
Iran also respects the decisions the Lebanese make and hopes that the country would form its government as soon as possible, he added.
Foreign intervention by the US and other states makes the situation in Lebanon harder, Khatibzadeh said.
Iran regards these interferences as a violation of Lebanon's stability, he stated, adding that it is the Lebanese people who determine the government and the way it is formed and will not accept any pressure.
With unilateral sanctions, the US will not only harm target countries but also deprive US institutions and companies of global markets by insisting on these policies, he reiterated.
In reaction to the European Parliament's Human Rights Resolution passed against Iran and the sanctions imposed on some Iranian officials, Khatibzadeh said that Iran strongly condemns the resolution, he said, noting that the resolution lacks dignity and is on the basis of unacceptable and obvious instances of interference in Iran's internal affairs;
Unfortunately, the European Parliament, which claims the human rights of the Iranians, has adopted a meaningful silence against the American economic terrorism against Iran and the killing of innocent people in Yemen and Palestine, he pointed out.
The European Parliament should put an end to the use of human rights as a tool and take a balanced and reasonable stance in interaction with Iran, he further noted (SOURCE: IRNA).
