SAEDNEWS: From early Monday, several petrol stations across Iran, particularly in the capital, Tehran, faced disruption, resulting in traffic jams and long lines at the country's stations. Iranian Deputy Minister of Oil Jalil Salari said specialized teams are working all over the country and the problem will be resolved within hours.
"By the end of today, the refueling system will return to normal,” he added.
Hours later, FNA reported that the majority of stations across the country are now providing fuel manually without any problem.
The delivery system is only facing a challenge with card readers, and employees at petrol stations disconnected the online system. Iran has some 33,000 petrol stations.
Following the disruption, Oil Minister Javad Owji confirmed that a cyberattack has targeted Iran’s national fuel supply system.
Spokesperson for Iran's gas stations association Reza Navar also dismissed any link between the disruption and a price rise or a shortage of gasoline and diesel (SOURCE: FARSNEWS).
