Islamic Republic's Judiciary Chief Visits Iraq to Discuss Bilateral Ties
Iran’s Judiciary chief warned that the assassination of Iranian and Iraqi commanders, Lt. General Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, will not remain unanswered.

Baghdad, SAEDNEWS, Feb. 8: In remarks after arriving in Baghdad on Monday, Seyed Ebrahim Raeisi said the martyrdom of the two great commanders of Islam will not go unanswered.

Paying tribute to Lt. General Soleimani and al-Muhandis as two heroes of the war on terrorism, the Iranian Judiciary chief said their assassins sought to disrupt the security of the Iranian and Iraqi people.

He noted that the bonds between Iran and Iraq are so strong that they won’t be broken by any sedition or plot.

He also lashed out at the US for targeting the symbol of resistance in a crime that has violated all international regulations and the territorial integrity of Iraq.

On January 3, 2020, a US drone strike near Baghdad International Airport assassinated General Soleimani, former commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps. The attack — that also killed al-Muhandis, the second-in-command of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) anti-terror group, along with several others — came while General Soleimani was on an official visit to the Iraqi capital (Source: Tasnim).
