TEHRAN, SAEDNEWS: Iran's foreign ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani, in a press conference regarding a question about the developments in Ukraine, said that Iran has been against the war in Ukraine from the beginning and did not support any side.
Stating that Iran has repeatedly announced that it has not provided weapons to any side in the Ukraine war, Kanani added that Iran, despite its friendship with Russia, did not support the annexation of regions to this country and declared its readiness to help end the war.
Also, Nasser Kanani, about the summoning of the Iranian ambassador to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, said the flight that was carried out was a normal and conventional one that was conducted periodically within the framework of monitoring Iran's border areas and in the interior of Iran, adding that these flights were done in the past frequently.
The spokesperson of Iran's diplomatic service pointed out that this issue could have been raised in connection with the Iranian embassy and military attaché in Baku, and the exchange of views and misunderstandings could be resolved. Therefore, this action of the Azerbaijani government in summoning Iran's ambassador cannot be considered as having good intentions in the form of relations between neighboring countries.
Regarding Iran's participation in the upcoming meeting on Syria in Moscow, Kanani stated that improving Syria's relations with its neighbors is one of Iran's most important priorities because good neighborliness between Syria and important countries in the region, including Turkey, will contribute to peace and stability in the whole region and Syria (SOURCE: IRANPRESS).
