Kuwait: Sheikh Nawaf Al Sabah Sworn in as New Emir
Sheikh Sabah Al Ahamad Al Jabir Al Sabah died at 91 last night. He was a political icon in Kuwait serving his country as the minister of foreign affairs for four decades. Now his half-brother the 83-year-old Nawaf Al Sabah sworn in as his successor.

SAED NEWS Sep 30: Kuwait's Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah was sworn in as the Gulf monarchy's new emir in parliament on Wednesday, following the death of his half brother, Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah. Sheikh Nawaf Al Jabir was born on 24 June 1937. He has 5 children including 4 sons and 1 daughter. There is no information of his educational status. His father ruled Kuwait from 1921 to 1952.

Sheikh Nawaf Al Jabir had been crown prince since 2007 when the late Emir Al Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jabir Al Sabah was chosen as the Emir of Kuwait.
