Many great men of thought are buried in Mashhad. The burial site of these great men is known as mausoleum. These key burial sites are documents for historical studies.
Mausoleum of Mir Ghyath Al Din Malek Shah has a door dating 1742 AD that seems to have been moved from another place to its current position. There is also a very luxurious tiling inside the mausoleum. The whole dado of the mausoleum of 1.45 meters high is covered by hexagonal green tiles and at the middle of every hexagon, there is a golden figure of “Ali” repeated for three times. At the top of the mentioned dado, there is a wide epigraph of 24 cm width. This epigraph is considered to be one of the distinguished works of art of Teymurid era. The tiles are in green with Thulth calligraphy work. The dome of this mausoleum is made with an appropriate design covered by tiles on which the sentence “Existence Is for Allah” is repeated.
