Tehran, SAEDNEWS, Oct. 28: Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Wednesday at the cabinet session, referring to the Unity Week, said that the basis of the life of the Prophet of Islam was not only to guide the Muslim community at that time, but the Prophet was also the teacher of humanity and mercy for all the world. President Rouhani noted that disrespecting a prophet encourages violence. It is not an art to provoke the feelings of millions of Muslims and non-Muslims.
He added that surprisingly, those who claim to have democracy, encourage violence. President Rouhani stated that the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) is the teacher of humanity. Westerners should understand that the Prophet (PBUH) is loved by all Muslims and freedom-seekers around the world. Emphasizing that insulting the Prophet (PBUH) is an insult to all Muslims, prophets and human values as well as a violation of morality, Rouhani said, "If the West, Europe, and France are right that they are looking for creating peace, tranquility, and brotherhood in today's society, they should stop interfering in the internal affairs of Muslims."
According to the President, "All of the problems that have been created, are due to the oppression, persecution, and inappropriate interference of the Westerners in the affairs of the Muslims. In today's world, they oppress Muslims. A clear example of that is Yemen, where the poor and trapped people are under bombs and Western planes." Earlier this month, French history teacher Samuel Paty provoked outrage by showing to his students the blasphemous cartoons of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), published by the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo.
He was murdered outside his school in a Paris suburb on October 16 by an 18-year-old assailant, identified as Chechen Abdullakh Anzorov, who was shot dead by police soon after the killing. French President Emmanuel Macron characterized the incident as an “Islamist terrorist attack.” The remarks have triggered anti-France sentiment in the Muslim world, prompting calls for the boycott of French goods and an official apology (Source: IranPress).
