President Raisi: US in No Position to Determine Gaza Post-War Future
SAEDNEWS: Iranian President Seyed Ebrahim Rayeesi said that the Hamas resistance movement must decide the future of Gaza and the United States has no right to meddle or make any decisions for the Palestinian people in the besieged enclave.

SAEDNEWS: President Rayeesi made the remarks in a Sunday telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Iran’s president stressed that the US is "the killer of the people of Gaza" and any intervention by Americans in determining the future course of developments in the Palestinian territory "would mean continuation of this country's crimes against Palestinians”.

He noted that Americans are accomplice in "the Zionist regime's horrendous crimes and massacre of the oppressed people of Gaza", adding Washington has no credit in the public opinion of nations.

"Americans have no right to intervene in any decision-making [process] for the people of Gaza and any step they take in this regard is doomed to fail," the president stated.

“The people of Gaza must [have the right to] make decisions about the future of Gaza through Hamas as the legitimate and legal government of this territory, which has been elected through people’s votes,” he continued.

US officials has in recent weeks stressed that Gaza cannot be run by Hamas once the continuing conflict is over. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had suggested that Tel Aviv would take control of security in Gaza after the war.

Erdogan, for his part, stressed the importance of Muslim countries, especially Turkey and Iran, to take a common stance against “Israeli brutality in the Palestinian territories”.

“Israel’s unlawful attacks on Gaza, humanitarian aid efforts for Palestinians and possible measures towards a permanent ceasefire in the region were discussed during the phone call,” the Turkish Presidency announced in a statement.

Since the start of the crisis in West Asia, the Turkish leader has harshly criticized the Zionist regime’s war on Gaza and branded Israel a “terror state” which is committing “genocide” in the blockaded territory. Erdogan has also cut off contact with Netanyahu due to Israel’s relentless bombardment of Gaza.

In early October, Hamas launched a multi-pronged surprise military operation via land, sea and air against Israel. The group announced it was in response to the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem and Israeli settlers’ growing violence against Palestinians. The attacks have so far killed more than 1,200 and injured over 5,500, according to Israeli officials. Hamas also announced it is holding between at least 200 and 250 hostages.

Following the multi-front attack by Hamas, Israel carried out heavy bombardment across the Gaza Strip, killing more than 14,800 Palestinians, including at least 6,000 children and over 4,000 women, and wounding over 33,000 others, and levelling entire neighbourhoods. The bombing, as well as enforced displacement orders by the Israeli Army, has also pushed 1.7 million people out of their homes.

Tel Aviv has also imposed a "complete siege" on Gaza, cutting off food, electricity, fuel and water supplies. The move has plunged the blockaded territory into a humanitarian crisis.

The Gaza Health Ministry has confirmed that the healthcare system in the besieged territory has “totally collapsed due to the Israeli war”. Dozens of hospitals and tens of medical centers are out of service due to Israeli raids, according to the enclave's health ministry. The UN agencies have also warned that the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip is "catastrophic", calling for more international help as conditions deteriorate in the densely populated besieged enclave.

Israel and Hamas reached an agreement last week for a four-day pause in fighting and the release of at least 50 women and children held hostage in Gaza.

The deal involved hostages who were held captive by Hamas being released in exchange for a number of Palestinian women and children in Israeli jails. The truce, meanwhile, also allowed the entry of “a larger number of humanitarian convoys and relief aid". The first release of hostages and prisoners took place on Friday, with others taking place Saturday and Sunday.

Iranian officials have in recent weeks cautioned that the current status in West Asia resembled a powder keg which could spiral out of control. They warned that if diplomatic pushes to stop Israeli assault are unsuccessful, there is a risk of the conflict escalating uncontrollably, with multiple regional players joining the fight.

Iranian officials say the Palestinian resistance movements do not face a shortage in munitions and other military equipment and are ready for a long battle with Israel and they are currently considering various options in response to the Zionist regime act of aggression and relentless bombardment of the Gaza Strip.

Tehran says the history of Israel is full of assassinations, massacre, torture and killing of Palestinian kids, and described Tel Aviv regime's atrocities and massacre of Palestinian women and children as indicative of the destitute of Zionists. Iranian officials say Tel Aviv has been struggling for more than 70 years to exit its identity crisis which has been mixed with genocide, plunder, forced displacement and scores of other inhumane moves (Source: FARSNEWS).
