The goal of construction of this museum was to provide a place for preservation of the official and unofficial gifts that had been presented to Iranian Government during the presidential tenure of Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani by public groups, different organizations as well as the officials of other world countries.

After the formation of this idea, in 1991, this museum was designed by an architect called “Shahvand Yusifizadeh”. Eight years later and in 1999, Rafsanjan’s Presidential Museum was officially opened by Mohammad Khatami Iran’s next president. Since then, this museum has turned to one of the most distinguished tourist attractions of Rafsanjan City.
