Rayeesi Appoints New Head of Iran’s Plan and Budget Organization
Iranian President Seyed Ebrahim Rayeesi in a decree on Wednesday appointed Masoud Mirkazemi as the new Head of Iran’s Plan and Budget Organization (PBO).

Paris, SAEDNEWS: Mirkazemi who has previously served as Oil Minister and Commerce Minister in the administration of former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will now serve at the capacity of Vice-President and Head of the PBO.

Born in 1960, Mirkazemi has a PhD in Industrial engineering and has also been at high official posts as the Head of APEC (2011), representative of Tehran city in Parliament and several other positions.

The PBO has a variety of goals and responsibilities, including assessment of the country's resources, the preparation of its mid-term and long-term development plans and policies, preparation of annual budgets, and monitoring and assessment of work done in implemented projects.

Rayeesi was elected Iran’s eighth president after he garnered almost 62 percent of the votes in the June 18 election with a turnout of 48.8 percent. He succeeds President Hassan Rouhani, who served two four-year terms in office.

The swearing-in ceremony of President Rayeesi was held at the parliament in Tehran on August 5 in the presence of high-ranking Iranian officials and foreign guests from over 70 world states.

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei had officially endorsed Rayeesi as Iran’s 8th president in a ceremony in Tehran on August 3.

Rayeesi in a decree last Sunday appointed Mohammad Mokhber as his first deputy.

Mokhber has served in different government posts after the Islamic Revolution, the last of which was heading Iran’s Headquarters for Executing the Order of Imam (HEIKO) that has produced the home-made vaccine COV-Iran Barekat. He has PHD degree in international laws.

Also, Rayeesi appointed Gholam Hossein Esmayeeli as his chief of staff.

Esmayeeli has served in several posts, mostly in the Judiciary. He was the Judiciary spokesman before being appointed to the new post.

Rayeesi on Wednesday submitted the list of his proposed ministers to the parliament due to be studied by the legislators on Saturday (Source: FARS NEWS).
