Tehran, SAEDNEWS: Addressing the cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Rouhani said that Iran has never been after weapons of mass destruction and its nuclear program has been peaceful.
Allegations against Iran are baseless, he said, adding that Iran nuclear deal, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), is a document indicating the fact that Iran does not seek nuclear weapons.
He noted that US sanctions and the outbreak of coronavirus have brought about many difficulties for people.
Referring to an analytic report on the impact of sanctions and COVID-19 on Iran's economy, Rouhani said that without these two factors, Iran's oil-free economic growth and oil economy growth would be 4.1% and 3.8% respectively.
He noted that inflation would be 11.5%, dollar exchange rate would be under 5,000 tomans, investment growth would be 4.7%, and gross domestic product would increase 22%, Rouhani said.
He went on to say that the government has spared no efforts for solving issues and standing against the economic war and has not neglected implementing the JCPOA and lifting sanctions, and has also taken advantage of any opportunity and second for that purpose (Source: IRNA).
