Vienna, SAEDNEWS: Russia’s envoy to the international organizations in Vienna Mikhail Ulyanov has said that Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi’s recent visit to Iran was constructive.

Vienna, SAEDNEWS: Russia’s envoy to the international organizations in Vienna Mikhail Ulyanov has said that Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi’s recent visit to Iran was constructive.

Ulyanov made the remark in an interview with Russian news agency TASS on Monday, noting that Grossi had a “fairly constructive” visit to Tehran last week.

“The director general met with the president of Iran, the foreign minister and the head of the Atomic Energy Organization,” the Russian envoy said, adding, “Additional measures have been outlined to inspect and monitor Iran’s nuclear facilities, which have yet to be finalized.”

The diplomat highlighted Iran’s statement following Grossi’s visit which said that the country is ready to engage with the IAEA on a mission to explain uranium particles that had been discovered in Iranian sites over the past years.

On Saturday, Grossi said after his second round of talks with Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Mohammad Eslami in Tehran that the IAEA will continue to work with Iran.

He also pointed to the international talks to revive the 2015 deal on Iran’s nuclear program, which is officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), saying, “As regards the resumption of talks to restore the JCPOA, there’s no progress there.”

In his Monday remarks, Ulyanov also touched upon positions adopted by the West, Iran, China and Russia with regards to efforts to return to the JCPOA.

“Iran as well as Russia and China are ready to finalize the decision to return to the original parameters of the nuclear deal, which has been almost entirely agreed on,” he said, adding that the UK, Germany, France and the US are not willing to do so for the time being (Source:IRNA).
