Salade De Chou Rouge
This red cabbage salad recipe or "salade de chou rouge" is a colorful, tasty yet easy salad recipe for you to make at home. A red cabbage salad to give you a dazzling and colorful starter for your hors d'oeuvres table.

It's sure to please everyone with its rich texture and colour. Easy and economical to make. All you need is a fresh firm red cabbage to make this red cabbage recipe into a striking display.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb/450gm red cabbage
  • 1 tbsp chopped chives or onion and/or 3 tbsp sliced radishes
  • Vinaigrette à La Moutarde

Instructions:

  1. Remove the outer leaves of the cabbage.
  2. It is easier now to cut the cabbage into quarters and cut away the core.
  3. Slice the cabbage very, very thinly.
  4. Sprinkle with salt and leave for about an hour.
  5. Drain and dry with kitchen towels or a clean teacloth.
  6. Mix the herbs and the dressing together.
  7. Pour over the cabbage, mix well.
  8. Leave for about an hour before serving.
  9. This is so simple to make but will look stunning on your table.
