Shikaft-e Gulgul (Assyrian Stone Rlief) in Ilam
There are countless ancient reliefs in Iran each one of which presents certain features and character. Ilam had been one of the bedrocks of civilization in Iran and there are several such reliefs in this city. Assyrian Stone Relief better known as Shikaft-e Gulgul is an exceptional one.

Among the old and historical works of Ilam, one can refer to Gulgul Stone Relief that is located near a village with the same name 25 kilometers of Ilam. Malekshahi Gulgul Stone Relief is placed on the wall of the mountain and belongs to Assyrians. It has 3 thousand years of history! On this stone relief, there is a figure of the body of an Assyrian soldier with helmet, moon and star over his head while he is carrying an arrow in his hand. In lower part of the relief several sentences are written in Hieroglyph.
