Oslo, SAEDNEWS, Oct. 10: Norwegian Noble Committee decided to award the Noble Peace Prize to World Food Programme for "for its efforts to combat hunger, for its contribution to bettering conditions for peace in conflict-affected areas and for acting as a driving force in efforts to prevent the use of hunger as a weapon of war and conflict." The World Food Programme (WFP) is a UN intiative that aims at fighting hunger and just distribution of food supply. On its official website, WFP has reacted to this event with a short phrase: "THE NOBLE PEACE PRIZE 2020: A REMINDER THAT FOOD SECURITY, PEACE AND STABILITY GO TOGETHER".
