Triangular College of Ahvaz
Designed by a French architect, Triangular College of Ahvaz represents a key tourist attraction in Ahvaz. It is almost a century old and served different goals.

Triangular University is located on the bank of Karoon River. The building of this university was opened in 1929 as the building of Central National Bank in Ahwaz. And three years later, it was used as Governor’s Office. During WWII when Ahwaz was occupied by the Allies led by UK, USA and USSR, this building was used as the military base. Finally in 1957, this building turned to Medical School of Jundi Shapur University and since then, it has a cultural use. From 1986 to 2010, this building was used as the Faculty of Literature and Foreign Languages of Jundi Shapur University but now it is now under renovation. This triangular building has an area of 3 thousand meters and its triangular form has caused it to be christened after triangle. You can find the specific features of Pahlavi architecture in this monument, i.e. circular arcs and porches of central yard of this structure. The design of tiling is repeated with the bricks and this can be regarded as one of its distinguished features .
