Beijing, SAEDNEWS: "China’s Xinjiang province with an area as vast as Iran and having eight neighbors, since the era of ancient Silk Road, has connected China with the West” Keshavarz-zadeh wrote on his Twitter account, adding that the province’s development is based on agricultural activities, transportation and tourism.
He continued, "Huge projects for eradication of deserts and water transfer based on modern technologies, have turned Xinjiang into the pole of China’s agricultural activities."
The ambassador noted that Iran’s comprehensive interactions with this province should be further boosted.
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in a meeting in Tehran on March 27 signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation document.
The cooperation document had for the first time been discussed in 2015, when Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Iran, to lead bilateral ties to a comprehensive and strategic level (Source: Fars News).
