The building of Sistan Museum of Ethnology was constructed in the early years of nineteenth century by the Great Britain for its own colonialist goals in the region. In 1989, this building became known as the temporary treasury and representative of cultural heritage of Zabol County and after 18 years, Museum of Ethnology started its own activity in this place.
