Zarif: Iran seeks regional peace and stability
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a message referred to his talks with UN envoys on Afghanistan and Yemen here in Tehran, saying, "Iran seeks regional peace and stability."

Tehran, SAEDNEWS: "Fruitful talks with UNSG SRs on Afghanistan, Mr. Arnault, and on Yemen, Mr. Griffiths," Zarif wrote in his Twitter account on Wednesday.

"Key theme: Peace processes must be owned by all Afghans and Yemenis—without external imposition," he added.

"Important common denominator: Iran seeks regional peace and stability. Ready to facilitate," he reiterated.

In his meeting with UN Secretary-General's envoy on Afghanistan Jean Arnault, Zarif elaborated on Iran's views regarding peace and security in Afghanistan. He also stressed Iran's supports for intra-Afghan talks.

Meanwhile in a separate meeting with Marin Griffiths, Zarif stressed that war is not a solution to Yemeni crisis.

He emphasized that Yemeni crisis will only be solved through political and peaceful negotiations (Source: IRNA).
