SAEDNEWS: "Those who claim to protect freedom and democracy have shown themselves to be the perpetrators of the greatest crimes, racial discrimination and human rights violations," President Rayeesi said on Saturday, addressing the Tehran International Conference on Palestine.
"It has become clear to everyone that the US is not only not a factor of stability in any region of the world but has been and remains the largest factor of instability and lack of security worldwide, including in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and other parts of the world," he added.
The president slammed the unconditional support of the so-called advocates of human rights, not least the United States and certain Western countries, for the crimes against the Palestinians.
Rayeesi stated that the true face of the US and many Western states was uncovered in the course of the genocidal campaign in the besieged enclave.
“They are not a party to peace but a party to war,” he stressed.
Iran’s president also warned against Washington’s scheme of the “forced displacement” of Palestinians from Gaza, describing the US as the "first and biggest violators of democracy in the world”.
"Americans are not going to make any plan for the future of Gaza. The future of this region will be determined by its own people and its own legitimate government," Rayeesi stated.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the president stressed the US and Israel must be tried at the International Criminal Court (ICC) for crimes against humanity over their actions in the blockaded territory.
He warned the US to avoid making plans for Gaza, saying the territory’s future must be determined by people living there, not the US. He noted that the Palestinian issue can only be resolved through a referendum.
Rayeesi added that Hamas is an elected government and represents the people of Gaza.
Following the Hamas military operation against Israel in early October, American officials promised rock-solid and unwavering support to Tel Aviv. The US has also pledged unwavering support for Israel as its military pummels Gaza with bombardment, announcing it will provide Tel Aviv with everything it needed. Washington has also deployed two aircraft carrier strike groups to the Mediterranean, as well as an amphibious assault ship carrying 2,000 sailors and marines.
Iranian officials say the United States is waging a war on Palestinians in the Gaza Strip through Israel. They stress the death of thousands of Palestinians in the blockaded territory is the outcome of Washington’s massive military equipment’s shipments to the occupied territories, calling for the trial of Israeli and American officials for their crimes against the Palestinian people. They note if Washington’s political and military aid to Zionists is cut off, the regime won’t be able to proceed its military campaign against the besieged strip.
Israel has been carrying out heavy bombardment across the Gaza Strip since early October, killing more than 20,000 Palestinians, including thousands of children and women, and wounding over 53,000 others, and levelling entire neighbourhoods. Thousands more are missing and feared buried under the rubble.
The Palestinian resistance movements say they do not face a shortage in munitions and other military equipment, and are ready for a long battle with Israel.
