President Rayeesi Calls for Immediate Halt to Israeli Genocide
SAEDNEWS: Iranian President Seyed Ebrahim Rayeesi called for an immediate halt to the Israeli “genocide and crimes against humanity” in the besieged Gaza Strip.

SAEDNEWS: President Rayeesi made the remarks in a meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Moscow. President Putin greeted his Iranian counterpart in the Kremlin, where their talks centered on the Israeli invasion and expanding relations between Tehran and Moscow.

“Gaza is a land where a child is martyred every ten minutes, so it is necessary to stop these bombings as soon as possible and find a quick and immediate solution," President Rayeesi said, adding, "What is happening in Palestine is a genocide and a crime against humanity."

“The Zionist regime's crimes in Gaza is supported by the US and Western countries, and it is unfortunate that international organizations claiming to advocate human rights have lost their effectiveness,” he added.

The Iranian president further said that what is afflicting humanity today is unilateralism and the unjust global system, and its manifestation can be seen in Gaza.

The Iranian president hailed strong relations between the two countries, saying there is definitely room to further develop them.

“Iran and Russia have good cooperation in the field of energy, agriculture and knowledge-based activities, but better steps can be taken for the interests of both countries and their governments," President Rayeesi said.

“I am very happy to be your host in Moscow. It is important that today we exchange views on regional issues, especially the situation in Palestine,” President Putin responded.

He also touched on growing trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, saying under the current plan, the signing of a free trade agreement between Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union mission is on Russia's agenda.

"The relations between the two countries are developing rapidly. I would be grateful if you could convey our best wishes to the Eminent Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, because he supports our relations," President Putin added.

President Rayeesi, who visited Russia at the official invitation of President Putin, was welcomed by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak and Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko at Moscow's Vnukova International Airport on Thursday.

The main agenda of his one-day trip included consultation on bilateral issues, including economic interactions, as well as discussion on regional and international issues, specially the issue of Palestine and developments in Gaza.

In early October, Hamas launched a multi-pronged surprise military operation via land, sea and air against Israel. The group announced it was in response to the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem and Israeli settlers’ growing violence against Palestinians. The attacks have so far killed more than 1,200 and injured over 5,500, according to Israeli officials. Hamas also announced it is holding between at least 200 and 250 hostages.

Following the multi-front attack by Hamas, Israel carried out heavy bombardment across the Gaza Strip, killing more than 17,000 Palestinians, including at least 7,000 children and over 4,800 women, and wounding over 42,000 others, and levelling entire neighbourhoods. Thousands more are missing and feared buried under the rubble. The bombing, as well as enforced displacement orders by the Israeli Army, has also pushed 1.9 million people out of their homes (SOURCE: FARSNEWS).
